Special Rules & Guidelines

Master Showmanship Contest

  1. Awards and Ribbons will be awarded to the Master Showman in each division.
  2. First-place winner in all showmanship divisions will compete for Master Showman.
  3. Contestants will not show their own animals.
  4. Contestants are required to wear the uniform of the organization they represent.
  5. Mini does not compete.
  6. Contestants will report to the show ring for check-in at 3:30 pm Friday, February 23.

Market Lambs

  1. Market lambs must be slick-shorn before weigh-in.
  2. Lambs must show lambs teeth.
  3. After weigh-in, market lambs will be classified according to weight for judging purposes.
  4. If animal grades for auction, maximum pay weight will be adjusted to 160 pounds.
  5. U.S.D.A. Market Lamb Grades:
  • MARKET READY: U.S.D.A. Prime or Choice quality with 12th rib back fat range .16-.35, average or greater conformation and cut ability.
  • NOT MARKET READY: U.S.D.A. Good or lower quality with 12th rib back fat range <.16-.35 >, below average conformation or cut ability.
  1. DANISH SYSTEM OF JUDGING

  1. Enter at ringside.
  2. Any age, sex, or breed was previously shown as individuals in either breeding or market divisions – a combination of the breeding & market divisions will not be eligible.
  3. Groups must be owned and shown by members of one club or chapter with not more than one animal owned and shown by any one member.
  4. Each club or chapter is limited to one entry.

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY

Carefully review this guide as it contains all of the applicable information regarding the exact rules and deadlines for this specific category, ensuring you are entering the correct classes in advance. When you submit your entry online you are agreeing that you understand the rules and regulations.

SHOWORKS

All entries must be made online through ShoWorks. If you plan to make changes to your entries or need to leave ShoWorks at any time - SAVE YOUR CART before exiting out. Once you select PAY NOW your entry will be submitted and you will not be able to make changes to your cart online. Those needing assistance with online entries can visit the Main Office Wednesday, January 24, 2024 to Friday, January 26, 2024 10:00am - 5:00pm and Saturday, January 27 9:00am - 3:00pm. The Main Office is located in the Shalimar building at Gate 4 on Arabia Street.

PAYMENT

Online credit card payments are the only method to enter your exhibit and are due upon entry. Cash or check payments will not be accepted.
