Special Rules & Guidelines

  1. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. NO ENTRY FEE.
  2. Open only to Riverside County residents, all ages. AMATEURS ONLY.
  3. This division is open to exhibitors of all ages.
  4. All recipes must include the use of DATES.
  5. Bring (2) plates - One (1) plate for appearance and show. One (1) plate for the judges to taste.
  6. Recipes must be typed on an 8.5 inch by 11 inch standard size paper with a font size of 12 or larger. It should contain the following information printed neatly or typed:
    • Exhibitors name, address, daytime phone number, and email address
    • Class entered (ex. Appetizer, Bread etc.) and dish name
    • All ingredients used and exact measurements
    • Complete directions & methods for preparations; including cooking times & temperatures
    • Number of servings
    • Utensils required
  7. For entrees containing meat, fish, pork or poultry, individual servings must be assembled by the entrant before being delivered to the contest.
  8. Your homemade entry will admit you to the Fairgrounds free on the day of the contest, Saturday, February 15, from 10 am to 1 pm.
  9. Recipes and entries should be delivered to the Taj Mahal Building by 1:00 pm.
  10. Judging will begin at 2:00 pm. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
  11. Recipe does not have to be original.
  12. No pre-packaged mixes may be used.

  3. Best of Show will be selected from exhibitors awarded 1st place in each class

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY

Carefully review this guide as it contains all of the applicable information regarding the exact rules and deadlines for this specific category, ensuring you are entering the correct classes in advance. When you submit your entry online you are agreeing that you understand the rules and regulations.

SHOWORKS

All entries must be made online through ShoWorks. If you plan to make changes to your entries or need to leave ShoWorks at any time - SAVE YOUR CART before exiting out. Once you select PAY NOW your entry will be submitted and you will not be able to make changes to your cart online. Those needing assistance with online entries can visit the Entry Office February 1-3, 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 4, 9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. The Entry Office is located adjacent to the Taj Mahal building through Gate 4 on Arabia Street.

PAYMENT

Online credit card payments are the only method to enter your exhibit and are due upon entry. Cash or check payments will not be accepted.
