Scare & Pumpkin Fest - General
Is the Scare...scary? Can I bring my kids?
The Scare & Pumpkin Fest is a family-friendly event. While the town of San Fantazma is rooted in Halloween and Day of the Dead traditions, there will be no gore or jump scares here.
The Carnival Carnivore haunted house is recommended for guests age 16 and over, requires an additional ticket, and is separated from the main area by permanent walls. This area is scary. You're welcome.
Does my kid need a ticket?
Children under 12 can use a Kids ticket for admission to the Scare & Pumpkin Fest.
Kids 3 & under are FREE.
Can I wear a costume?
All guests are encouraged to wear costumes. When choosing your attire, please keep in mind the following guidelines:
- No non-medical masks for guests over the age of 12
- No weapons or toy weapons
- No gore or wounds
- No capes or trains that excessively trail and could cause a tripping hazard
- No exposed excessive portions of skin that may be viewed inappropriate for a family environment
- No clothing or visible tattoos depicting gore, nudity, profanity, or drug use
Is this event accessible?
All areas within San Fantazma are wheelchair accessible. This includes Plaza Fantazma, Cantina Calacas, and the Carnival Carnivore haunted house. Accessible restrooms are also available.
What's included with my General Admission or Kids ticket?
Each General Admission or Kids ticket grants entrance to the Scare & Pumpkin Fest on the specified day. Interactive photo ops, character interactions, and a variety of entertainment are included.
Haunted house entry requires a separate additional ticket.
Food, beverages, merchandise, and of course pumpkins are all available for purchase.
Parking is available at the Fairgrounds for $10.
What items are prohibited?
All guests are subject to wanding and bag checks prior to entry. Please leave the following items at home:
- Weapons and pocket knives, including toys
- Outside food and beverages
- Stickers, flyers, and balloons
What is your refund policy?
No refunds will be given at any time for any reason. Unused or unredeemed tickets are non-refundable for any reason.
There are no in-and-out privileges. Upon exiting the event, there is no re-entry.
What behavior is inappropriate?
As a community celebration, we ask that all of our guests be respectful of other guests and event staff at all times. Inappropriate behavior includes but is not limited to:
- Disobeying directions from event staff
- Disrupting the enjoyment of other guests
- Using foul language
- Damaging props, scenery, or facilities
- Running
- Wearing a non-medical mask
- Displaying gory, lewd, or profane clothing or materials
What is your COVID policy?
Events at the Riverside County Fairgrounds adhere to current health and safety guidelines as provided by the County of Riverside Department of Environmental Health at all times. These guidelines vary from time to time, and all guests and staff are required to abide by any measures in place while on grounds.
Note that any public location where people are present provides an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your visit.

What is San Fantazma?
San Fantazma is a magical town in the spirit world where the locals are having a festival - and you're invited! All treats and no tricks at this familly-friendly celebration.
Ofrenda
What is an ofrenda?
An ofrenda is the offering placed in a home or community altar during the annual and traditionally Mexican Día de los Muertos celebration.
Can I add to the ofrenda?
Our ofrenda will grow over the course of the event as community members add their notes of remembrance. Everyone from the community, regardless of background, is welcome to honor a lost family member, friend, pet or even a historical figure who is important to them.

Who should not enter the haunted house?

Can I have a drink to calm my nerves?
Drink responsibly. Guests appearing to be intoxicated will not be allowed to enter the haunted house and no refund or alternative time slot will be offered.
Cantina Calacas
Is this a 21+ area?
Cantina Calacas is open to guests of all ages. This area serves as seating for our food service as well as pumpkin painting and other activities.
Purchasing an alcoholic beverage requires current government-issued photo identification proving age of 21+.
Directions & Parking
Where do I park?
All guests will enter the Fairgrounds at Gate 6 on Dr. Carreon Boulevard between Oasis Street and Arabia Street. Parking at the Fairgrounds is available for $10 and can be purchased online or at the event.
Please respect our neighbors and do not park in the surrounding streets. There is no pedestrian entrance from Arabia Street; all guests must enter at Gate 6.
